Daisy Bourassa

Graduate Student

Phone: (404) 385-1176

Daisy obtained her Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry in 2010 at Simmons College, an all women’s college located in Boston, Massachusetts. Her current research primarily involves studying the redistribution of transition metals during cell division and embryogenesis. In her free time, Daisy enjoys yoga, running and spending time with her 14-year-old miniature pinscher Jill.

Adam McCallum

Graduate Student

Adam McCallum came to Georgia Tech from Northern Kentucky University, where he graduated in 2012 with a B.S. in Chemistry with an emphasis in Biochemistry.  His current research is focused on the design, synthesis, optimization, and photophysical characterization of Zn(II)-responsive fluorescent probes for live cell elucidation of Zn(II) trafficking.  When he’s not in the lab, he avidly enjoys playing tennis, hiking/camping, and reading.

Haylie L. Hancock

Graduate Student

Phone: (404) 385-1176

Haylie Hancock graduated in 2013 from Bridgewater State University with her BS in chemistry and a concentration in biochemistry. Over the past year she has taught Biochemistry II laboratory to seniors in the chemistry program. Her research is focused on the elucidation of thermodynamic aspects of Cu(I) trafficking and storage in mammalian cells.

Margaret E. Read

Undergraduate Student

Phone: (404) 385-1176

Maggie is a 4th year undergraduate student from Atlanta, GA, pursuing a Bachelors of Science degree in Biochemistry at Georgia Tech. With her degree, Maggie plans to continue her education and pursue a career in the health sciences. Her current research is concerned with the characterization of copper- and zinc-selective fluorescent probes in cell culture, and the support of various other projects. In her free time, Maggie enjoys playing lacrosse for the GT women's club team and working as a lifeguard at the Campus Recreation Center. She is also a member of the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority.
